With nearly 50,000 students flocking to the country annually, Singapore has made its name as one of the emerging and popular study destinations among the international student community. Home to a number of universities offering world-class education, the City-State promises a fresh study experience to students who want to explore more than just a degree.

A student who is planning to pursue an undergraduate or postgraduate course in Singapore should be aware of the admission cycle of Singapore.

While the application deadline for major universities and institutes in Singapore varies, generally, it is between March and June. Also, there are usually two intakes in the postgraduate level of many universities- January and August and the deadline for application varies according to that. The admission cycle of Singapore also depends on the admission cycle of the number of foreign universities which have their campuses in the country.

Besides the admission cycle, it is also very important to know when to apply for a Student Visa to study in Singapore.

Student Visa:

The student visa or Student Pass is the next important thing that an international student should focus after applying for his/her chosen programme. It is necessary that aspirants apply for the Student Pass at least two months prior to the commencement of their programme but not more than six months in advance. Also, the criteria for the Student’s Pass vary for different classes of educational institutes. All visa applications to Singapore have to be passed through the Singapore Immigration & Checkpoints Authority or ICA. Generally, ICA accepts a processing fee of S$30 for every application.

After an applicant submits the visa form, it takes around 2 to 4 months for the Student’s Pass to be processed.

Yes you are eligible to get student pass only if you have admission notice from a university in Singapore.
