Top Deemed Universities for MBBS for NRI - Medical education in India is governed primarily by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. The admissions to the medical colleges are done by the Medical Council Committee and state counselling authorities after the candidate is declared eligible by the medical entrance examination National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG) conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). NEET-UG is going to be held on May 5, 2019.
There are different categories of medical colleges in India. The first round of eligibility is declared by NEET-UG. These seats are filled by the institutes at a fee which is higher than the fee for general Indian students.
Admission to the courses offered by top deemed universities for MBBS for NRI students is done through NEET, a Common Entrance Test conducted by CBSE. The counselling process starts after the declaration of the results. The candidates who are declared eligible for counselling are required to visit the site of Medical Counselling Committee (MCC). NRI Seat Aspirant Eligibility: According to a Supreme Court order, NRI seat aspirants should fulfil the criteria below:
One of the parents should be an NRI and shall ordinarily be residing abroad as an NRI
The person who sponsors the student for admission should be a first-degree relation of the student and should be residing abroad as an NRI
If the student has no parents or near relatives or taken as a ward by some other nearest relative such students also may be considered provided the guardian has bona fide treated the student as a ward and such guardian shall file an affidavit indicating the interest shown in the affairs of the student and also his relationship with the student and such a person should be an NRI, and ordinarily residing abroad.
‘Nearest relative’ should be one of the following.
Real brother and sister of father i.e. real aunt and real uncle
Real brother and sister of mother i.e. real maternal aunt and real maternal uncle
Father and mother of either parent i.e. maternal or paternal grandfather and maternal or paternal grandmother
First degree paternal and maternal cousins
Such a person should be an NRI

BVDU Medical College Pune offers admission to NRI students. A total of 23 seats are offered to NRI candidates and the rest 127 seats are available to all India category students.
