How is MCAT Score Calculated?
MCAT comprises four sections. Separate scores are given for each section.
To make an MCAT score report, the raw score of the candidate are calculated for each section. The raw scores are simply the number of the questions answered correctly by the candidate. No penalty will be applicable for incorrectly answered questions.
The raw score of each section is then converted on a score range of 118 (lowest) - 132 (highest). The total MCAT score is the sum of scores from all sections and is represented on a score range of 472-528.
To convert the raw score of MCAT into the score range, the process of equating is followed which takes several factors into consideration such as the small variations in difficulty between sets of questions. This ensures that no matter when the candidate is taking the test, the score will be just and fair.
MCAT Score - What is Percentile Rank?
The score of MCAT is also reported in the form of a percentile rank as it is reported along with each section and the total score. The percentile rank is not the general percentage as one may assume, rather the MCAT percentile is comparative analysis. The percentile rank of scores is the percentage of the test takers who receive the same or lower score than the marks scored by the candidate.
MCAT Score - Voiding the MCAT Exam
After the exam, the candidate will have the option to void the MCAT exam. If the candidate does not want his/her test to be scored, he/she can click on the void option to cancel the test. In such cases, the score of the voided exam will not be reported to the medical colleges neither the attempt will be counted under testing limits. No refund will be issued to the student if the exam is being voided.
How and When to Access MCAT Score?
To view the MCAT score, the candidate must sign in to the MCAT Score Reporting System. The scores will be available for viewing no later than 5:00n pm ET on the day of the release. The MCAT score are released around 30-35 days after the conduct of the exam. It should be noted that the MCAT score will not be provided over the phone or via email.

There are two methods of reporting the MCAT score.
American Medical College Application Service (AMCAS)
If the candidate is applying under the American Medical College Application Service (AMCAS), the score will be reported automatically. No extra steps need to be taken for adding the scores in the application form.
However, it should be noted that AAMC follows full disclosure policy which means all MCAT tests taken by the candidate from April 2003 will be made available to the medical colleges. The candidate cannot withhold the current or any prior score from the AMCAS application.
MCAT Score Reporting System
The candidates can also use the MCAT Score Reporting System to send the scores to the medical institutions who are not participating in the AMCAS services. Further, the candidates can take the printout of the score, so they use it for reporting purposes. There are no additional fees for reporting the MCAT score.
MCAT Score - The Rescoring Option
If the candidate believes that some error in making the MCAT score has been made, he/she can request for rescoring the answers by hand. An MCAT rescore request through the MCAT registration system can be registered within 30 days of the release of the MCAT score. The candidate will be charged 65$ for making the rescore request. Hi,
Well getting a medical education in USA requires you to complete a undergraduate degree first and then do MD and to get admission in any medical college there for MD, a student is required to give MCAT exam. Since you are a high school graduate, you need to do a undergraduate course before entering into medical school in USA. In uk you can directly go for medical school because there you will get mbbs degree similar to india.
