Masters in Engineering: Eligibility

  • The applicant should have a four-year bachelor’s qualification in engineering or a related science domain. Most masters in engineering courses do not accept graduates from all domains as it is difficult for students to then fully grasp the coursework of the graduate program.

  • If the applicant does not have an undergraduate engineering qualification, then he or she must ensure a strong background in mathematics and physics as they are foundational for study in engineering at any level.

  • The applicant must have satisfactory academic records in his or her physics and mathematics-related subjects in order to be eligible for the masters in engineering courses.

  • In turn, applicants can also submit GRE subject test scores for the Physics and Mathematics subject tests if they do not meet the above mentioned eligibility requirements. 

Masters in Engineering: Admission Requirements

For admission to an MS in engineering program at any of the top universities in the world, applicants need to submit a number of documents and records in order to meet the admission requirements. These include:

  • GRE General test scores are a requisite for admission to any program. These scores should ideally be above 300 and for the best universities, a score of 320+ is essential.

  • English language proficiency test scores from any of the globally recognized English language proficiency tests are required; these include IELTS Academic, TOEFL iBT, CAE, and PTE Academic.
