Candidates are advised to check for a preferable GRE test date and centre before they actually register. The steps provided below will explain the complete process of selecting the test dates of GRE 2018.
Step 1. Go to Find Test Centres and Dates page in the official website of ETS or check the above window.
Step 2. From the first drop-down list “Select a test”. This lists the GRE General test as well as all the GRE Subject Tests.
Step 3. From the second drop-down list, choose the test centre location.
Step 4. The page displays ‘Find GRE test dates within this two-month period’ and shows the dates of next two months. The candidate may choose to see the dates in the displayed two months or click the arrow button to view the subsequent two months.
Step 5. Key in the Restricted Reservation Code, if any. This is an optional feature.
Step 6. Click ‘Find available test centres and dates'
Step 7. The next page displays the available dates in the two-month period. The GRE test date is colour coded and the index below projects the same-

Step 8. Clicking on the date will display the test centres available. It will also display the directions to the selected GRE test centre as well as the available slot and the number of seats available at the particular centre.
GRE Test Dates 2018: Monday Testing
GRE Services facilitates Monday testing for candidates who have religious convictions barring them from appearing for the GRE test on Saturday. The candidates are requested to mail the following information to the officials:
Registration form of GRE
GRE registration Fees
Letter confirming the candidate’s affiliation with the religious community whose conviction prevents the candidate from appearing for a test on Saturday. This letter should be attested by the cleric.
Important information for candidates opting for Monday testing:
The required documents should be received by GRE Services by the special registration deadline date.
The GRE 2018 test centre number on the registration form should be left blank
The city and state where the candidate prefers to be tested to be mentioned in the form only.
The candidate will be assigned the closest available centre within 125 miles.
Standby testing option is not available for Monday testing candidates
Candidates are permitted to reschedule their test dates within the testing year. The reschedule should be done at least four days before the scheduled exam. To reschedule a test which was scheduled for Friday, the candidates are suggested to send in the request by Monday. Inform GRE Services by phone or mail regarding the change along with the following details:
Name of the candidates
Date of birth
GRE Test date
Preferred GRE test centre
New test date of GRE
Requests sent by mail need to reach GRE Services at least four days prior to the scheduled GRE 2018 test date.
Prospective test takers can avail the facility of cancelling their scheduled exams by informing the GRE Services. Cancellation of a test has to be done at least four days prior to the stipulated exam date to avail refund equivalent to 50 percent of the GRE test fee.
Candidates are required to send in their cancellation request along with the following credentials:
Name of the candidate
Test date of GRE
There are no specific eligibility criteria for GRE 2018. Aspirants can appear for the test irrespective of age and qualification. The GRE syllabus depends on whether the candidate is appearing for GRE General Test or GRE Subject Test. The syllabus and GRE pattern differ for both the GRE General test and the GRE Subject test. Interested candidates can download the GRE sample papers for both the formats of GRE 2018.
Aspirants who are interested in pursuing a Masters degree, specialised Masters course, MBA or PhD degree can sit for the GRE Test. Conducted by ETS, it is a standardised test that is accepted for admission to various disciplines at many graduate schools across the globe.
