Careers360 GLAP: One of the biggest issues that an international student faces while planning to study abroad is the lack of accessible and credible information. Unlike in the case of domestic students, the biggest challenge for students vying for foreign institutions is that, in most cases, they are unable to get first-hand information about the university, especially, regarding its various programmes and admission requirements. While education fairs are dime a dozen, they are only held in specific locations and, hence, do not cater to the large number of students who might be in want of information.
To ensure that prospective international students do not get lost in the avalanche of information as well as have access to facts about universities right from their study tables, Careers360 brings you the Global Live Application Platform (G-LAP) – an online platform for one-on-one interaction with university representatives across the globe.
Here’s what G-LAP is all about:
What is Careers360 G-LAP?
Global Live Application Platform or G-LAP by Careers360 is an online event where you can interact with admission representatives of international universities and schools across domains like engineering, management, medicine and even hospitality. GLAP boasts of participation by over 100 universities from major study abroad destinations like USA, UK, Canada, Australia, Malaysia and UAE, among others. Not just universities, GLAP also has government country counselors like Education USA and NUFFIC NESO Netherlands if you have specific queries about visa and immigration related to the country.
After three successful events, GLAP is covering the entire admission cycle involved in studying abroad.
How does GLAP work?
GLAP allows registered students to interact with university and country representatives through a live chat mechanism. Registered students can browse through the universities and their programmes and if they find a programme and university suited to their requirements they can start a live chat with them. In case, a representative is not available, students can drop a message for the representative to respond later.
One of the unique elements of GLAP is that it uses a compatibility index called PCI to guide students to the right university.
What is PCI?
Profile Compatibility Index or PCI is an indicator of the compatibility between your profile and a University’s Admission Criteria. Your profile could include your academic, personal records and preference in terms of subject and country. Standardised exam scores of GMAT, GRE, SAT, IELTS and TOEFL are also included in the PCI. Once a student completes his profile, Careers360 matches the profile with all the universities and the student gets a personal PCI number on a scale of 0-1000 attached to the universities. The higher your PCI number with a university, the greater is your compatibility.
One of the major ways in which having a PCI helps you is that you do not have to waste your time browsing through the institutes not suited to your purpose. PCI, basically, filters your options for you and makes conversation easier between the universities and you.
However, to take advantage of the PCI you need to fill your complete details with Careers360 so that your PCI number is accurate. You do not have to pay anything to participate in GLAP or get your PCI. The entire event is free of cost for students. The only thing that you need is interest in studying abroad.
